He’s a stunning colourful spectacle, a
feathered friend native to the rainforests
of Mexico, Central America and Northern
South America. Goldie uses his beak as a
third foot to help him climb, and he’s a
rather messy eater, playing a key role in
regenerating the forest, by dropping
seeds.

These vibrant birds remain bonded to their
mate for life and can often be seen flying
in large flocks. They are also very
noisy, giving loud calls and producing a
variety of sounds, which makes them good
talkers! They can learn many words and
short phrases.
